This project conducted by Prof. Yılmaz Esmer (Bogazici University) aimed to understand the relationship between religiousity and political behavior in Turkey. The project based on a survey research conducted in two provinces of Turkey, Istanbul (the most developped one) and Konya (the most religious one).
The major of this research is to understand the change experienced by the Turkish party system during last two decades by especially emphasizing on the change of the agendas of Turkish political parties.(This project is a part of my Phd. dissertation)
During the last decade, Turkey experienced a series of coalitional governments. Although that coalitions seemed synonymous with political instability, results of next elections will not probably lead to one party government. Major aim of this study is to understand dynamics of coalition formation and dissolution in Turkey.
This project is sponsored by Konrad Adenauer Foundation of Germany and conducted by IMV-SAM of Turkey. The aim of this study was making a description of Turkish youth which forms 40 per cent of Turkish population. The study based on a survey conducted in 11 provinces of Turkey with a sample size of 2200. Results of this study is published in March'99

In April 18th, 1999; municipal and general elections is held. Results of these elections became surprising for many observators, journalists and academicians as a result of sudden increase of the National Action Party (MHP) which is admitted as an ultra-nationalist party.:
